Making music should be accessible to everyone
I built FourOnDaFloor in my spare time while working as a software engineer, because I believe making music should be accessible to everyone.
Creative tools shouldn’t be locked behind expensive licenses or restrictive systems that prevent people from building, remixing, and experimenting. FourOnDaFloor is my attempt to make those creative building blocks more open and accessible.

Why this exists.
Nobody should have to rent a kick drum
Everything good was rented
Sample libraries went subscription, packs went behind storefronts, and the price of a kick drum became a monthly line item. None of that made anybody better at making music — it just decided who got to start.
The free stuff lost its name
There has always been free audio around, but it arrives stripped: no tempo, no key, no idea who made it. A folder of untagged one-shots is a folder you never open twice.
So it got built at nights
A software engineer’s spare-time project, not a company. That is why it stays free — no funding to return, no growth target, nothing that needs the samples to cost something later.
Credit travels with the sound
Every sample carries the handle of whoever sent it, filed by tempo, key and genre. Take what you need, and send back anything somebody else could use.
